Study Tour
A study trip was organized for the students of M.Sc. Forestry, IInd Semester on the 4th Feb, 2017 to Indian Institute of Soil & Water Conservation (Research centre) located in Selaqui and Asan Barrage. Dr. G.P. Juyal, Retd. Principal Scientist, ICAR accompanied the students and guided them through the trip. The trip was meant to make the students aware of the various measures, techniques and structures adopted for preventing soil erosion and water conservation. It also helped the students to acquire practical knowledge of different structures and work done in field conditions. Students also learnt sediment control measures and watershed management like various types of spurs used for regulating water runoff and accumulation of sediments. The trip concluded by visiting Asan Barrage, which is home to thousands of migratory bird species.
