FRI -Dehradun celebrated 'World Ozone day 2018' on 18 September 2018 on the theme 'Keep Cool And Carry On: Montreal Protocol'. The whole programme was conceptualized by IFSA under the Student Club, FRI Deemed to be University (FRIDU). A nukkad natak was performed by the students of FRIDU highlighting the ecological imbalance and health hazards caused by the depletion of ozone layer present in the atmosphere. They insisted on minimizing the use of modern equipments like refrigerators and ACs which release the harmful CFC compounds. The nukkad natak was followed by a scientific talk by Shri S.D Sharma, IFS, DDG (Research) on 'Ozone depletion: impacts and remedies'. A poster competition was also conducted for M.Sc. students & research scholars of FRIDU. Dr. Savita, IFS, Director, FRI appreciated the efforts of the students and asked to take a pledge to aware and awake the public for the protection of ozone layer. The programme concluded by awarding prizes to the winners of the poster making competition.
