Forest Research Institute (Deemed to be University), Dehradun organized a special lecture on ‘Voluntary Blood Donation & Thalassemia’ to aware the young generation for voluntary blood donation and its benefits. Mr. Deepak and Ms. Bharti Sharma from IMA Blood Bank, Dehradun were the guest speakers. They delivered a motivational lecture to the M.Sc. students and counselled the students regarding the myths of blood donation and shared their experiences of life savings through safe blood. Students also got opportunity to know the procedure as well as benefits of donating blood. The lecture was followed by an interactive session where the students raised a number of questions and participated enthusiastically. The interaction was greatly appreciated by the students and they expressed their gratitude for the knowledge imparted to them.
